Nestled on the slope of Cerro Chapelco, the Miradores del Lanín complex sits in a singular corner of the Ski Village Las Pendientes at 1,500 metres above sea level. From there — about 26 kilometres from San Martín de los Andes, the last eight along a gravel road — the landscape that opens beyond each cabin’s windows justifies the name: the perfect cone of Volcán Lanín, the blue expanse of Lago Lacar, and the snowcapped wall of the Andes form the permanent backdrop of the property.

The complex comprises six cabins that combine mountain warmth with generous space. Each unit features high-output heating, large comfortable beds, bathrooms with bathtubs, fully equipped kitchens, and satellite television. The feature guests mention most consistently is the picture windows: designed to frame rather than interrupt the views, they turn the living area into a continuous mountain lookout. Units are split between the larger Casa Miradores and the Dormis Sum, a more compact option suited to groups who prefer a shared-space setup.

One factor that sets Miradores del Lanín apart from the rest of the Las Pendientes offer is the permanent presence of resident caretakers and the availability of in-house all-terrain vehicles. The practical consequence is concrete: even on the heaviest snowfall days of the ski season, guests can drive their own vehicle directly to their cabin door — something no other complex in the area offers. The property operates year-round with no seasonal closure.

The complex’s clubhouse has its own dining space, where staff prepare meals with customisable menus and guests can opt into breakfast and dinner packages. The restaurant is not open to the public: it serves exclusively the complex’s guests, giving the property more of a private resort character than a conventional mountain cabin rental.

The location on Cerro Chapelco defines two clearly different rhythms across the year. In winter, the Chapelco ski runs are practically within arm’s reach, making Miradores del Lanín a natural base for skiers and snowboarders who prefer not to commute into San Martín at the end of each day on the slopes. In summer, the altitude and forested hillside offer a different kind of experience: mountain trails, sport fishing on nearby lakes, trekking in Parque Nacional Lanín, and easy access to the Ruta de los Siete Lagos with San Martín de los Andes as a convenient starting point.

The distance to the centre of San Martín de los Andes — around thirty minutes by car — allows guests to enjoy the town without being immersed in it. The gravel stretch is passable in a standard vehicle throughout the year, reducing dependence on arranged transfers and giving guests who prioritise privacy over urban convenience far more freedom of movement.
