Las Murras Cabañas

In the heart of Las Pendientes — Argentina’s only Ski Village — Las Murras is a group of mountain cabins designed to make the most of Andean Patagonia in any season. Located 10 minutes from the base of Cerro Chapelco and a short distance from the center of San Martín de los Andes, Las Pendientes has a distinction that few properties in the country can offer: its own ski lifts and runs within the neighborhood itself, allowing guests to ski directly in and out from the cabin’s doorstep.

The cabins are designed for groups of 4 to 6 guests and combine warm wooden interiors with comfort features that go well beyond the mountain-lodge standard. Each unit has two bedrooms — the master en suite with a jacuzzi tub and a second room with twin beds — two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious living and dining area with additional sofa beds. Central heating is complemented by a Bosca wood-burning stove, which transforms cold nights into something altogether different. Daily housekeeping, with linen and towel changes every three to four days, rounds out a stay with minimal logistical friction.

The views of Lanín volcano — an icon of Neuquén’s landscape and one of the tallest active volcanoes in the world — from the cabins themselves are among the most frequently noted highlights by returning guests. The location in Las Pendientes adds a practical dimension: the neighborhood has its own ski school, equipment rental, restaurant, and convenience store, keeping day-to-day needs close at hand during a ski week.

In winter the focus is naturally skiing: Cerro Chapelco offers 28 runs for all skill levels across a 1,600-hectare skiable area, just ten minutes away from Las Pendientes. For those looking beyond the slopes, snowshoe hikes and snowmobile tours round out a varied winter agenda.

Once the snow retreats, the setting transforms without losing any of its appeal. Summer in this part of the Neuquén Andes opens up a broad range of outdoor activities: trekking, mountain biking, forest horseback rides, paragliding, rafting, kayaking, and climbing are all part of the regular summer landscape. The nearby Cerro Chapelco Adventure Park adds structured options for families with children. And just a short drive away lies the start of the Seven Lakes Road, one of Patagonia’s most celebrated scenic drives, connecting San Martín de los Andes to Villa La Angostura through a succession of lakes in colors that seem almost painted.
