Complejo Aspen sits in the residential zone of San Martín de los Andes at Teniente Coronel Pérez 1127. The city is compact, but the location matters: three blocks from the civic center and with direct road access to the route up to Cerro Chapelco and the Seven Lakes Road. For guests arriving with ski gear in winter or planning lake excursions in summer, that direct exit means bypassing the busiest streets in town.

The complex is divided into three distinct structures: the hotel itself, the hostería —also known as La Posada— and the cabañas. The division is functional, not cosmetic. The hotel offers classic and superior rooms with full-service hotel amenities. La Posada takes a different approach, offering Junior Suites and full Suites in a more intimate posada format, designed for guests who want boutique-scale lodging without giving up access to the larger complex’s facilities.

The heart of the shared common space is a wood-burning fireplace lounge that anchors social life during winter stays. The adjoining bar shares Wi-Fi coverage and satellite TV. Outside, spacious gardens, a covered quincho, and an outdoor grill extend the usable space during warmer months, when the heated pool with solarium is also open. The on-site restaurant removes the need to head into town for every meal, though the city’s dining district is just a short walk away.

The spa, housed in La Posada, features a Finnish sauna, Scottish shower, Finnish steam bath, and a mini pool with hydrotherapy jets and ozone filtration. The combination of wet and dry heat, paired with the contrast of the Scottish shower, is particularly appreciated after a day on the slopes or a long trekking route. Practical infrastructure includes covered (non-enclosed) parking, a central safety deposit box, and one room designed for reduced-mobility guests.

Cerro Chapelco is a short drive from the complex. The ski center, one of the most significant in the Andean Patagonia region, runs winter operations across pistes suited to different ability levels; the hotel puts together tailored ski packages combining accommodation with snow days. In summer, the options expand: Lago Lácar and Lago Nonthué support boat trips to destinations like Quila Quina, Pucará, and Hua-Hum, while the surrounding hills open up trekking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and rafting. Excursions to Volcán Lanín —inside Parque Nacional Lanín— as well as to the Seven Lakes Route, Villa la Angostura, and Villa Traful can all be arranged through reception.

San Martín de los Andes is notable among regional destinations for its deliberately human scale: a municipal ordinance caps building height and protects the low-rise character of the town. Complejo Aspen fits that landscape. It is not a tower hotel but a set of horizontal buildings surrounded by gardens, with the mountain as an immediate backdrop. That layout makes it a practical base for guests focused on reaching nearby attractions as much as for those who prefer to spend a large part of their stay within the complex itself.
