Pablo Bernasconi Gallery
Located in the heart of Bariloche, the Pablo Bernasconi Gallery, known as La Ridícula Idea, serves as a meeting point where the boundaries between disciplines become blurred. This space is not merely a conventional exhibition hall, but a hub of aesthetic production that brings together illustration, literature, science and philosophy. The project was conceived with the purpose of showcasing the richness of a body of work that uses visual language to explore complex concepts, offering an approach that goes beyond the simple contemplation of art objects to propose a dialogue between different forms of knowledge.
A space for cultural integration
The gallery is embedded in a very specific geographical and cultural context within the Patagonian region. It is situated within a large garden that also houses Estación Araucanía, an emblematic cultural centre in the area. This location means the gallery’s artistic programme does not operate in isolation, but integrates into the cultural life of Bariloche. The presence of this natural and cultural setting enables an experience where contemporary art coexists with local identity, allowing the works of Bernasconi and guest artists to enter into dialogue with the landscape and the community.
The multidisciplinary programme
At the core of the gallery is the work of Argentine artist Pablo Bernasconi, whose technique is defined by a constant search for multiple layers of meaning. Moving through his works, one can appreciate a fusion of the editorial and the plastic, where illustrated portraits for adults and works for children share the same conceptual rigour. The gallery is not limited to static exhibition; its programming includes the organisation of shows that aim to keep Bernasconi’s multidisciplinary output current, while also incorporating work by artists such as Tania Gatti, Gabriela Herrera, Maria Varas and Celeste Albani.
A space for exchange and creativity
Beyond the display of works for sale, the space functions as a driver of intellectual activity in the region. Through talks, workshops and gatherings, the gallery promotes creativity retreats that seek to stimulate the exchange of ideas with the local community and visitors. This pedagogical and social dimension transforms a visit into a participatory experience, where contemporary art is used as a tool for critical thinking and the exploration of new visual narratives.
