Interlagos Indoor Karting
Interlagos Indoor Karting in Mar del Plata: covered track with bridge and tunnel, electronic timing, categories for children from age 9 and adults, racing simulators, and snack bar overlooking the circuit.
Interlagos Indoor Karting is the reference indoor karting track in Mar del Plata. Operating under a roof, it allows racing every day of the year regardless of the city’s weather. The main circuit is designed around two structural features: a 40-metre bridge and a tunnel, which combine corners of different radii with changes of pace and require the driver to manage speed and braking across varied situations. A computerised timing system records lap times, positions, and each kart’s number in real time, and an electronic display board — visible both from the seat and from outside the circuit — shows the live standings throughout the entire race.
The circuit: bridge and tunnel
The track layout incorporates the passage over the 40-metre bridge, with its pronounced exit corner, followed by entry into the tunnel, creating the most intense section of the course. At the end of each session, the system prints a summary of the final standings so every participant can keep their record. The track is fully covered, ensuring consistent conditions regardless of the season.
Race formats
Adult races follow a structured format: one warm-up lap, two qualifying laps, and twelve racing laps. Before getting into the kart, all participants watch an instructional video covering on-track conduct rules and flag meanings. Children’s races are available from age 9 with a minimum height of 1.40 m. The children’s karts are smaller and speed-limited; specialist staff provide direct assistance during driving, ensure the use of mandatory safety equipment — restraint harness and helmet — and hand each participant a souvenir at the end.
Additional services
The complex includes racing simulators and an electronic games room to extend the experience beyond the track. The snack bar offers a panoramic view of the circuit and screens to follow the races live, and serves as a meeting point before and after each session. The facilities are set up for birthday celebrations and group tournaments, with the option to book the circuit for corporate events and private functions. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis; reservations are not taken for individual sessions.
