Parque Centenario

Located at the geographic center of the Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Parque Centenario functions as an enormous green circle that breaks with the density of the urban fabric. Situated in the Caballito neighborhood, but with a direct connection to areas such as Almagro and Villa Crespo, this space is distinguished by its circular layout and its importance as a green lung for local residents. The park’s identity is tied to the commemoration of national milestones; it was inaugurated in 1909 to celebrate the centenary of the Revolución de Mayo. This historical weight is reflected in its layout, which aims to offer a respite within the avenues that define its perimeter, such as Av. Díaz Vélez and Av. Ángel Gallardo. Walking through it, one perceives a planning approach that prioritizes openness, allowing the landscape to act as a counterpoint to the fast pace of the surrounding streets.
